Go Cougars!

I know, I know, you're all saying "What?? Go Cougars? Aren't you guys in Mississippi?!" And the answer is yes, but if there's one thing you have to know about BYU football, it's that you can never truly get away from the Cougars. Especially when you move across the country and they end up playing their first game of the season 60 miles from your new digs at Ole Miss. So of course we HAD to go! (Thanks to my old BYU boss for some great tickets!) We met up with some other SCO friends down there for the BYU tailgate party, where Maddie got to rock out to the Fight Song and hang out with Cosmo. She really likes the rah-rah-rah part at the end of the Fight Song but definitely isn't too sure about Cosmo, which you'll see below. She was also running on no nap for the day since she refuses to sleep in the car so there's some pretty cranky faces in the few photos we got! Oh well. The game was so-so for about three quarters when we were down 13-0 and then completely AWESOME for the fourth quarter when there was a scoop-and-score and a drive for the game-winner all right in front of us! Gotta love those Cougars keeping you on the edge of your seat. I must say that Ole Miss was a great place to visit. Jordan and I had already decided long before we realized BYU was coming to town that we would definitely be hitting up an SEC game while we were down here, and it didn't disappoint. We loved the atmosphere, and everyone was really nice. I'll admit being a little nervous about all the drunken craziness beforehand, but we stayed away from The Grove and had great interactions with all the Ole Miss fans. Even after we beat them, people would stop us on the way to our car and say what a great game it was and thank us for coming down to play. I've never really gotten to experience a BYU game from that perspective, and it was so fun to be in the Cougar cheering section with the team and the crowd getting fired up! I told Jordan afterward that I think it was one of my proudest moments as a BYU alum! So don't worry folks; we may be far away, but I think we'll always bleed blue :)
