Spring Break Day One

I know it's only February, but spring has sprung here complete with 70 degree weather and a whole week off of school for Jordan!! I've been looking forward to his spring break for seven weeks, especially since BYU never had spring break and I was always jealous of my friends at other colleges who got to take a week off. In an effort to prevent boredness and sitting around in front of the television, we made sure that we had an activity planned for each day this week to maximize our family fun (think simple and cheap - we're still starving students here)! Today was park day, and Madison had a blast! It was great for all of us to get out in the sun, and I love watching her interact with other kids. She's always been super friendly with adults but a little intimidated by other kids, perhaps because she's still pretty small. But she's getting much more confident in saying hi and playing! She's even started picking up boys wherever she goes ... imagine our delight ;) Here's some photos of our afternoon!

Concentrating on going down the slide - she always has her tongue out when she's thinking hard about something!

Cute girl

She LOVES slides but she's still not quite willing to just completely let go. So she still uses her feet and hands to keep control. I think she gets that control freak stuff from her Dad :)

On the monkey bars with an assist from Mom

Jordan really liked this picture

Thinks she's a big girl ready to jump off

No more baby stairs for her. She went up these bars at least 10 times, although she tended to get stuck towards the top without help!

A playmate! Again with the tongue as she's getting ready to kick ... love that!

Taking a break with Dad

This was her male conquest of the day. This little boy followed her EVERYWHERE, even trying to help her climb the bars and go down the slide. She started pushing him away towards the end because he just wouldn't take a hint :)
