Rainy Day Fun

People sometimes tease me about being constantly on the go! I really don't like to just sit at home. I have some sort of activity or outing planned for us pretty much every day - zoo, library, park, botanical gardens, even if it's just Sam's Club! However, this isn't always a good thing. As Jordan and I have discussed where we eventually want to end up living, I have to admit that I'm a bit scared of the small-town setting Jordan really loves. I just don't know what I'm going to do with my kids every day!!! So I've been trying to slow down a bit and get used to spending time at home. The weather helped me out with this in June with a lot of rain so instead of racking my brain for indoor outings, I planned for some fun days at home! One particular day, I took some pictures of our activities just to remind myself later that I can do it :)

Our first activity was "cleaning" the chairs - both girls playing with the squirt bottle I use to do their hair, so I gave them each a bottle and a rag and told them to go for it! They had a lot of fun squirting - I wish I felt that way about cleaning :)

Activity #2 - M&M Cookies ... Yum!

Then there was some spontaneous wrestling. Anyone who says girls don't rough house has obviously never had two of them! These girls love to tackle each other! And while this picture shows McKinley getting pinned, she's usually the instigator and spends more than her fair share of time on top of Madison!

Cute silly girls

This activity might be banned in some houses, but I just tell myself that bubble solution on the carpet is just like shampooing, only a lot cheaper!

Making lunch. This is actually an almost-daily activity around here. They love to pull everything out of the pantry and make meals for us! Obviously we were having a lot of guests this particular day :)

I made up this little indoor scavenger hunt for Madison during Quiet Times - she seriously loved it! Don't laugh at my artwork!

 Twister ...

... which quickly turned into Tackle Twister!

This was supposed to be a bean bag tossing game, but they had other ideas

And just in case you weren't sure what they really love to do ...

There you have it - tips for surviving a rainy inside day!! (Although by the looks of it, Madison may not necessarily agree with the surviving part :) )
