We left after breakfast and headed up the road toward Flagstaff. We've traveled that way many times, but once we turned off the road to go to Sedona, the landscape totally transformed and it was so beautiful!!!! There were gorgeous red rock formations everywhere and so much green! I loved it! We had to wait a little while to get into the park because it was crowded but it was worth it! We hiked down to the river with a picnic lunch and then had so much fun swimming and going down the natural water slides formed by the rocks!! The big girls took turns going down the slides with Dad, and Reagan had a lot of fun hanging out with me splashing in the water. She did go down the slide once with Dad, but she just mostly wanted to explore and play!!! After about an hour, a storm moved through, which was nice since it cleared most of the people out and we didn't mind a little rain since we were already getting wet!! We hiked further up the little canyon and found another slide to go on. However, about this time we started to see thunder and lightning so we decided it was probably time to head out. I had to get back for mutual anyway. But we all agreed that we would definitely be coming back! It was a great day trip!!
I have no idea what McKinley's problem is in this picture ... she had fun, I promise!
Contemplating their route
Dad and McKinley
Dad and Madison
Madison actually started going down by herself towards the end but it got deep at the end so she liked to have Dad close by to grab onto
The family that plays together, stays together
There's a happy girl! Madison wanted to be the photographer as we walked back to the car so these are a couple of her shots
Another happy girl!
