4 Months!

I can't believe McKinley is already four months old!! She's grown so much and is seriously so fun now :) Here's some highlights of our cute baby girl:

- Weighs 13 pounds, 8 ounces and is 24.5 inches long - 50th percentile for both
- Favorite toy: stuffed elephant
- Favorite Book: Peek-A-Boo Farm book
- Finally sleeping through the night!! She goes to sleep around 8 after we read stories and scriptures with Madison. Then I wake her up at 10 for a final feeding. After that, she sleeps until between 6 and 6:30. Sometimes if she starts squirming in her sleep, I go in and give her the bink, which calms her right down. She still sleeps swaddled (I recently had to make her a HUGE receiving blanket so she would stay in). She's always really happy in the morning, usually waking up and talking to herself for a while before requesting food :)
- She also naps well. She generally takes a nap about 2 hours after waking up in the morning and then wakes up to eat around 9:30 or 10. After that we do our errands or activities for the day (story time at the library, Music Time, playgroup, etc.) and she gets little cat naps in the car as we're going. Then we come home for lunch and nursing again. Madison goes down around 1:30 so I read to both girls before her nap and then McKinley goes down right after that. So both girls sleep for at least an hour and sometimes two in the afternoons, which is awesome for me! Then they both wake up between 4-5 and we try to keep her up until bedtime, with sometimes a little nap snuck in there in the swing. She actually still mostly naps in the swing ... she seems to be more content there and less likely to move around and wake herself up. (that was a long description, but it's mostly for me to remember with the rest of them!)
- Nurses 5-6 times a day
- Has become such a happy, fun baby! She really only cries when she's tired. She loves to smile and will do so as soon as she sees you looking at her. She also likes to talk and can sometimes get really loud as she experiments with her voice.
- Still extremely ticklish, which is seriously cute :) Her laugh is awesome
- A serious slobber girl and loves to suck on her fingers and drool all over. She also loves to try to give kisses. She just opens her mouth wide, says AHHHHH and comes at you, which can lead to some very wet loves. Maybe I'm just kidding myself about the kisses - it's more like she's trying to eat you :)
- Still just rolling over from tummy to back. But I'm not really actively working on other stuff with her. I'm not in a hurry for her to be moving all over the place. I do have her sit with me a lot though because I think life will be more fun for her when she can sit up. She can hold herself up for a few seconds and then ends up tilting to one side. But she really wants to sit up - she's started straining against her car seat straps trying to get to a sitting position.
- Loves being outside
- Totally fascinated by Madison. If Madison is anywhere near her, McKinley just stares at her and watches everything she does!

She recently discovered the baby in the mirror and is fascinated! I bathe her in a little infant bathtub on my bathroom sink and she's always angling to the side to watch herself in the mirror (and yes, that's Madison reading her a book in the background :)

Making friends

She loves to do this with her legs and then rub her feet together. This girl's legs and feet are constantly in motion!
