Party Time!

We had Madison's birthday party on Saturday! I found a cool cake idea on Pinterest that inspired a rainbow theme so we did a little decorating and planned some rainbow goodies for everyone. I thought we kept it really low-key while still having fun, although Jordan would probably still say I went overboard :) I guess that's why we're good together - between the two of us, we usually find a happy medium!

I'm SOOOOOO grateful for our awesome friends who came to celebrate our cute girl! We had 14 adults and six kids ranging from one month to 4 years old :) We really do feel so blessed to have such great people in our lives! I was behind Madison when everyone sang Happy Birthday to her, but Jordan said she just had a look on her face the whole time that she felt like a million bucks!! She had a great time running around playing with everyone! Enjoy the pictures!

The cake. I've been working on being less stressed about things that don't really matter so I went into this process totally okay with making a last-minute run to Kroger for a cake when this one crashed and burned. But I think it turned out pretty good :)

Decorations. Kudos to Jordan for stringing up the balloons!

Bad lighting but this was behind the food table - the banner just says Happy Birthday Madison in vinyl letters

The presents

Friends :)

Food!!! We did rainbow chip cookies, a rainbow fruit tray, a rainbow veggie tray, rainbow punch with rainbow ice cubes, skittles and skewers with chicken, bell peppers, pineapple and red onion, which we later realized we also served at her first birthday party!

Madison and her friend Grant ready to open presents!

The first gift - a new dress from Great Grandma!

Cute girl!

Of course we had the basketball games on during the party :) She likes basketball too!!

A new dress from Grandpa!

Reading the card from Nana - I'm a mean Mom like that; we have to read all the cards before opening the presents!

I love the expression on her face in this picture! She LOVES bubbles!!

And of course there are a million pictures of her with her tongue out opening her gifts :)

This was her homemade gift this year - I sewed the alphabet in squares on a sheet so we can practice letter sounds and start spelling. She spent an hour on this mat this morning running from letter to letter spelling all kinds of words! Similar to my experience with the cake, I was fully prepared to resort to hot glue for the letters, but I'm pleased to report I conquered the sewing machine!

The flashlight was a last-minute addition to the present pile that we paid like $6 for. But she loves it! She's always asking for our real ones so we knew she'd be excited to have her own. She's taken it everywhere with her since she got it!

Ghetto wrapping

Her big present was a dollhouse I picked up at Goodwill!! We need to get more furniture to go with it, but she really likes it!

It was a hit with all the kids :)

Ready to blow out the candles

Does it get any cuter than this?! We might need to get a little closer ;)

There we go!!

McKinley and Brandi! We've been working on her separation issues with Mommy :) She also had fun during the party! She just started crawling the night before so she had fun moving around and checking out the scene!

The next day after Church, Jordan and I were on the couch watching basketball when we looked over and saw this! I guess she liked it :)

Somebody get that girl a wipe! Happy Birthday Madison :)
