Backyard Fun

We have been loving the backyard the past few weeks!!! The weather has been perfect - we've all commented on how it's so much nicer this year compared to May last year when we were already dying from the heat! One of our first purchases when we moved in last summer was a little patio set with a table, four chairs and an umbrella. Then we got a grill in February so we use it at least a couple times a week and eat out on the patio as much as possible! Jordan loves to grill, and McKinley loves to eat :) Her favorite is brats! Love it!! We used Madison's birthday money to get a kiddie pool, and a friend who was moving gave us a little slide. We also have our little garden, which has been fun to work in! All in all, it's our own little paradise!

McKinley was not a fan of the pool at first since we had just filled it and it was cold! But as long as we fill it at least the night before so it warms up a little, she's in heaven!

Playing with the pool "toys" - a couple bowls and some rings from her stacking toy. We're all about improvising!

We have this lizard sprinkler thing that Madison has a love/hate relationship with. She likes the idea of it, but she hates getting water on her head in any way so refuses to run through it. But she freaks out if we turn it off because she likes to watch it spray. Silly girl!

McKinley likes it :) Too bad she can't run through it yet ... but she's getting close :)

Madison wanted to wash the slide. It's not very big, but I've been kind of surprised how much both girls like it! It's the perfect size for both of them to use and have fun with!

Helping plant the garden. We planted four tomato plants and one cherry tomato plant in one box and cucumbers, squash and three jalapeno plants in the other. The cucumber and squash seedlings are already coming up and the tomato plants have grown a ton! It's been fun to watch and work on together!

Whew, we deserve a break!

One day while we were cleaning up from dinner, Madison was playing by the pool, leaning over the edge to play with the toys. A few minutes later, we came out and found this. She had managed to get her shorts off, but couldn't take off her shirt. But that obviously didn't stop her!!
