Reagan 7 Months

Our little cutie is seven months today! Time really is flying!

- She's a big girl! She mostly wears 6-9 month clothes, but is already into some 12 month stuff, mostly because everything I have in between is for cold weather, which isn't happening here! She's also currently wearing size 3 diapers, although that's really just because the store was out of size 2s when I bought them last time :) She's definitely a big girl, especially when you put her up against other babies her age. She's not really chubby, just big
- She has two teeth!! Her bottom two teeth came in on Sept. 30. I always think I'm going to miss the big gummy smile when teeth come in but she's just too cute with those two little ones in there! They are, however, razor sharp! She still likes to chew on anything she can get in her mouth, including our fingers, and if she gets those teeth on them, watch out!
- She knows her name and everyone else in the family's. She's also getting the hang of waving. We go out to the driveway every morning and wave goodbye to Dad.
- She's a serious roly poly and can get anywhere and everywhere. She's pretty good at sitting if she's just sitting up straight but if she reaches to the side to get something she usually falls over. She also prefers to stand instead of sit and will try to straighten her legs if you set her down on her bum. She can stand by herself against the couch and ottoman.
- She's VERY busy!!! She thinks everything is hers and is constantly grabbing anything in sight. And it usually ends up in her mouth. This has made grocery shopping a unique challenge. McKinley LOVES to ride in the car cart, but Reagan isn't good enough at sitting to ride in it. So I put Reagan in the front carrier. But her reach is just long enough that she grabs anything I grab and anything else she can get to on the shelves. It's both comical and frustrating!
- She went on the swings for the first time and loved it!! She laughed and laughed ... and then fell asleep :) We just got a little swing set in our backyard so I think we'll be getting a baby swing to put on it!
- Sleep ... oh how I miss you! I'm still getting a wake-up call every morning around 4:30. The thing is she doesn't wake up hungry. She just wakes up. Most of the time, she plays and talks to herself for a while before finally getting bored and crying for someone to come play with her. I nurse her at that point just because it's the quickest way to get her back to sleep so I can sleep! Once I do that, she usually goes back to bed until around 7 or 7:30. I know it's not ideal, but right now it's the best we can do. 4:30 is just to early to start the day! I hope she figures it out soon. Both my other girls were sleeping from 7-7 by five months so this is new territory for us.
- She's a lot different than the other two were as babies in other ways as well. She struggles more with things like shots and teething. I barely even noticed when the other two were about to cut teeth, but she had a rough time cutting her first two this month! She is also the first of our kids to find her thumb. It's not very often and only for a few seconds at a time, but she gets a dirty look from Dad every time!
- So she eats around 5 am and then around 8:30, 12, 4 and 7. She's a fast nurser, around 10 minutes total. But we're having some trouble getting her to take a bottle. She'd actually never had a bottle until about a month ago when we tried to leave her with Aunt Jenna for date night. She totally refused. So we started working with her on it by having Jordan give her one on Sundays when he's home. She's been doing well with it so we thought we were good. But we tried to leave her again on Saturday and Jenna said she refused again to drink the bottle. She said that she started to take it but as soon as she looked up and saw it wasn't Dad, she started crying and wouldn't take it. Silly girl. She naps twice a day, right after her 8:30 feeding and then sometime in the afternoon around 1. Since I have to wake her up at 3 every day to get Madison from school, she usually still needs a little cat nap around 5 to make it through the evening.
- Thankfully, she's not very attached to her bink. She likes it when she goes to bed and it helps her relax in the car but when we're just hanging out during the day, she never has it. This is a nice change from McKinley, who was totally obsessed with the bink! It's great that Reagan will take it when we need her to but not be desperate for it all the time.
- She's still not really in love with food. She tolerates it but doesn't really get into it. We still have to mostly coax her mouth open and she has yet to eat a full container in one sitting. I try to give her little bites of what we're eating since I'd rather her get into that sooner anyway, but it's slow going
- She loves her Mommy :) Jordan usually gets up with her when she wakes up for good in the mornings so I can sleep just a little longer, and she lights up like a Christmas tree when he brings her into me!! I love love love it! It's a little bit tough because she always wants me, but since the other two have always been Daddy's girl, I'm all about it.
- She's also in the stage where she hates when people leave the room. She just loves attention!
- We got rid of the swaddle! We started out just leaving her arms out because otherwise she just rolls and rolls around her bed. But we worked up to no swaddle at all, and she's doing good!

Got distracted by something. Busy busy busy
