Sandy

Madison's kindergarten class has a class pet, a little stuffed dog. The class got to vote on a name and then each kid gets to bring the dog home for two days. They rotate boy girl and it's usually someone who has been extra good that day. Madison has had two other opportunities to bring Sandy home before she finally got to have him over the weekend at the end of September. The first time, she was all set to bring him home and then right before they lined up to go Mrs. Barnes discovered that Madison had been absent-mindedly doodling on her desk. So Sandy got taken away. Madison was devastated by this - lesson learned. The next time she got Sandy and then Mrs. Barnes read a note I wrote in Madison's folder that we were going to Lake Powell so she wouldn't be at school the next two days. So Sandy couldn't come home with us. Madison took this one in stride - she told me she was okay with it because this time she hadn't done anything wrong :) Finally the stars aligned and Sandy got to come to our house!

Both Madison and McKinley have been looking forward to having Sandy for a long time! Madison actually voted to name the dog Uno so the girls decided that's what they would call him while he was at our house. Sandy came complete with a dog carrier, dog toys, a doggie bowl and a couple different doggie outfits. Our job was to take care of him and take him on all our adventures for the weekend and then Madison had to write a couple sentences about what they did. We had a lot of fun just doing our normal activities like playing outside, doing projects and a quick trip to Men's Wearhouse :) We're definitely loving all the kindergarten fun!

Welcome home Sandy ... I mean Uno :)

McKinley was as excited as Madison!

They used the shoe thing at Men's Wearhouse as a slide for Sandy
