Our advent calendar ... each tube has Hershey's kisses and a scripture wrapped up in tissue paper that we eat and read each night before bed. The girls really love this tradition!
The stockings were hung! I made a board last year to hang them on but since we already had this up for our "family" letters, I figured it would be easier to just use it! And somehow Reagan's stocking ended up being smaller than the other girls' so we'll fix that for next year! The plan is to get nice embroidered ones once we stop having kids anyway, but in the meantime, it's fun to have these that we've decorated ourselves!
Some of the Christmas cards we received and some paper Christmas trees the girls decorated
We have several nativities, which is fun! The one on the left is one Jordan got on his mission in Australia and has lots of fun animals like a koala bear and a kangaroo. The one on the right is one I saw and loved in St. Johns last year.
The one on the right with the bears is from Gatlinburg, TN, and the one on the left is the basic Walmart special that Jordan and I got for our very first Christmas together :) We also have a few more nativities, including one my Mom made from wooden blocks that the girls love to play with
I spent a ton of time one year making this tulle light strand. I love how it looks, but I dread the day one of the lights goes out :)
Our Christmas village always goes on the piano and is one of the things the girls love to play with and rearrange
A felt Christmas tree - another fun kid-friendly decoration
I made this felt nativity last year to go with the tree
I seriously LOVE our Christmas tree! We have a tradition of getting new ornaments when we go on trips or for fun milestones in our family. It's so awesome to pull out the ornaments each year and remember all the fun things we've done together as a family. Then we get to think of them every time we look at the tree. It really makes the tree so special to us! These are all the new ornaments for our tree this year. There's several new ones Madison made at school, ones from trips to Idaho, Disneyland, Sea World, and the beach, Reagan's baby ornament, a Big Sister ornament for McKinley and a couple ornaments we got from friends this year.
We also started a new tradition this year with a set of ornaments I got at Deseret Book. Each ornament has another name for Jesus and includes a scripture about the name. We did a new one each morning and added it to the tree.
Our beautiful tree! I love it!!! Even the bald bottom half to keep the ornaments away from Reagan :)
