Roth Randoms - December

December was a very busy month for our family with all the holiday preparations and celebrations! We had a lot of fun enjoying the season! I think the highlight for Jordan and I was a double date we went on with our friends the Schmidts to a choir concert - it was AMAZING!!! I also had the opportunity to conduct the choir in my first Christmas program. I think it sounded beautiful and there were lots of positive comments! While it definitely stresses me out and pushes me, I'm really enjoying this calling. We also had some sickness in our family, which was no fun and resulted in four different doctor visits throughout the month and our very first experience with ear infections, a double one for Reagan. We also spent a great deal of time on our knees and in the temple considering a job offer Jordan received for a position in Spokane. While the offer was very good and it would've meant living close to my family, we ended up declining. There are a lot of reasons why, but ultimately, our family is very happy here! The girls have great friends, we love our neighborhood and ward, Jordan is thriving in his new work situation, we love our callings, the list goes on!! There have been so many times in the last two months where I just stop for a moment and marvel at how blessed and happy we are!! And if it ain't broke, don't fix it! So as 2015 comes to a close, we're so grateful for all our blessings and looking forward to an awesome 2016!!

Part of their homework is reading to each other. I love how close these two are

A new hairstyle for Madison. She liked it a lot and wanted me to take a picture

Trouble! Not really; I love it! Playing with the DVDs has been a favorite pastime for all three of our girls now!

Rub a dub dub, three cute girls in a tub

Rocking and rolling outside

This girl loves to help me bake!

We found the girls like this in Madison's bed one night. I love it!

Madison wanted the star for Christmas

She loves to play the piano like this

This is the inside of my sweater. As you can imagine, I haven't bought a lot of new clothes for myself over the past few years, and I've had this red sweater that I love for seven years now. At some point a tiny little hole developed in the back. I don't usually worry about it, but I needed to wear this sweater while I conducted the choir for our Christmas program so I knew the entire ward would be staring at my back for long periods of time and would inevitably see the hole. So my sweet husband came up with this solution Sunday morning while I was doing hair. A piece of red felt and some packing tape. It worked great and no one even knew! I guess this picture pretty much sums me up. Even though Jordan is working now, I'm still not interested in spending a bunch of money on myself. I like to get things for our family, my girls and our home. And we LOVE to save save save! And if that means sometimes my shirts have tiny holes, so be it. There are definitely other priorities!

I found this picture on my camera that McKinley took. She's stinking cute :)

Sleepy baby at Uncle Jason and Aunt Jodi's house

We took some pictures at the doctor's office to pass the time

We were looking at Christmas dresses for next year and wanted Dad's opinion

They were hanging the hangars off their noses

They got these reading chairs for Christmas and LOVE them!! They use them constantly. It's so fun to peek in there and see them reading together

There's a 7-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy who live two doors down from us that our girls have become good friends with. They play together either at our house or theirs almost every afternoon. One day, they used some old wood that was on the side of our house to make a bridge for some stuffed animals. They also said they found a shark tooth in the backyard and constructed a trap for the shark! I'm so grateful for good friends!!
