From the Rothlisbergers

Dear Friends and Family –

Merry Christmas! We have had another fantastic year in the Rothlisberger house and are so grateful for this opportunity to reflect on 2015 and count our many blessings!

Our biggest blessing this year arrived in a tiny screaming bundle in March, three weeks early and in the middle of a complete kitchen renovation! Reagan Mei was born just one day before Madison’s 5th birthday and has been the joy of all our lives ever since! Now, almost nine months later, our cute baby girl is crawling all over, has six teeth and a smile that lights up the room! She is the favorite in our house and has two devoted big sisters who just can’t get enough of her. Madison even told us that she doesn’t need any Christmas presents this year because Reagan is her best present. While the 12 months it took us to get pregnant with her were some of the most trying and difficult of our lives, she has definitely been worth the wait!

McKinley continues to delight us with her larger-than-life personality! She loves being the crazy one in our house and can get away with almost anything just by turning that mischievous grin on us. It was tough on her when Madison started school and she lost her best buddy during the day, but she has lots of fun playing with Reagan and has started doing her own activities. She’s part of a weekly playgroup and started gymnastics this fall, but her favorite thing is Mommy School. In just the few short months we’ve been doing school activities, she has learned to recognize, sound out and write all her upper and lower case letters! I’m not pushing reading since she still has plenty of time before school, but she’s getting ready! She also does her eye exercises every day and has improved a lot in that area. She gets lots of compliments on her glasses!

After what seemed like years of waiting (to her, anyway) Madison started kindergarten this year! She loves absolutely everything about school, including her teacher Mrs. Barnes. She’s been able to read for over a year and is now up to reading 100+ page chapter books so the academic side is pretty easy for her. But she loves all the projects and crafts they do and especially loves PE, which is a surprise! She also started doing karate this year and has grown leaps and bounds in her confidence level. She’s still our sensitive one, but this makes her the best big sister around as she is always quick to help out or comfort Reagan and McKinley. I’m very grateful for the sweet spirit she brings into our family.

Life with these three cute girls definitely keeps me busy! In addition to our normal routines, this year we’ve also enjoyed trips to Mississippi, Idaho (twice), California, and countless weekend jaunts to St Johns as well as a move from Mesa to Gilbert, our fifth address in seven years! We love our new home and neighborhood and have really enjoyed the community parks and pools! I’m blessed with two callings in our ward, Primary teacher and Choir Director! Both keep me on my toes. In my rare spare time, I still love to craft and blog!

After a lifetime of hardwork and dedication, Jordan officially left his student status behind and graduated from SCO in May! We had a blast spending a week in Mississippi seeing old friends and celebrating his accomplishments. He started work in July and currently sees patients at four different private practices in the East Valley. He loves his work and enjoys getting different perspectives on practicing from all four locations. Hopefully one day we’ll put all that knowledge to good use in our own practice! In addition to finally counting our own paychecks, he is also the Financial Clerk in our ward and enjoys serving wherever he can.

So there you have it! We’re happy, healthy and living it up! We’re especially grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our Savior and reflect upon His incredible life this holiday season. We hope this letter finds you doing the same. May your days be merry and bright!

–  Jordan, Jen, Madison, McKinley and Reagan
