Big Sisters

I made all three girls "Big Sister" shirts and Dirk a "Little Brother" shirt for the hospital. It didn't work out to get pictures there so we did a little photo shoot at home! These three girls are all such good big sisters already!

I'm so grateful that Madison is my first - she's very sensitive but that makes her such a perfect big sister!! She is a natural caretaker and is always thoughtful and caring. She is definitely Reagan's favorite, sometimes even more than me! Her and McKinley do have their tough moments, but most of the time, they play great together and Madison loves to teach McKinley all the things she's learning in school. Since Dirk has mostly been with me these first couple months, especially with all the sickness, Madison has been a huge help with the other two. I selfishly wish she didn't have to go to school so much!!

McKinley is the fun one! If Reagan is hurt, upset or doesn't feel good, she always wants Madison. But McKinley is her favorite to play with! It's been fun to watch those two develop their relationship the past few months while Madison has been in school. Sometimes McKinley can be a little too intense and gets in Reagan's face too much, but mostly they have a great time together!! McKinley is the same way with Dirk - she loves to give him kisses and try to tickle him, and we sometimes have to say no more touching Dirk!!! But I love that she loves so completely :)

Of course, big sister territory is all new to Reagan, and I was really worried about how she would handle it. But she has totally surprised us all by being fiercely devoted to her little brother! She actually wants to hold him and touch him and see him the most!! She always asks where he is when she wakes up and she literally tries to take him out of my arms all the time! If he cries, she immediately tells me "Dirk crying" or "baby crying" and then tries to give him his pacifier. She also loves to wipe his face with the burp rag. We've had to walk a very fine line of letting her be involved but also saving her Dirk from her constant "mothering"! It's very cute :)

I'm so grateful for these three wonderful big sisters and our little caboose :)

Of course, there's a ton of picture, partly because these kiddos are just too cute and partly because I just had to capture all of Reagan's faces and anxious concern for her brother!

I think this one is my favorite
