Just because life hasn't been crazy enough the last six weeks, we decided to move in the middle of all of it!!! It definitely made life interesting as we tried to cram packing in among all our travels, but it's been totally worth it!! We LOVE our new house!! It's so nice! I will be forever grateful to Jordan's family for letting us stay in his grandparent's home for the last eight months, which helped us out tremendously, but the place was in rough shape, and the whole six weeks without a kitchen thing really didn't help! Not to mention the neighborhood was so sketchy Jordan forbade me from going outside without him! Anyway, we searched for a while for the perfect place and narrowed it down to a fantastic neighborhood in Gilbert. We wanted to be in this particular neighborhood so bad we were even willing to settle for a smaller house than what we really wanted and put in an application for a house at the end of April. However, my constant Zillow stalking paid off at 2 am one morning when I was feeding Reagan and still searching and found the perfect home for us!! I called on it first thing in the morning and we were able to get it!! I love it so much!! We picked up the keys the same day we flew back from Idaho and officially moved two days later. Knowing we would be moving somewhere once Jordan graduated, we've been saving money for that purpose. When it ended up being such a short move, we decided to put the money toward hiring movers! With this being our fifth move in six years, we figured Jordan had earned a break :) We still packed everything ourselves but then we just stood back and watched the movers work to get it loaded and unloaded! So awesome! Jordan kind of hated me for the next few days as I pushed to get everything unpacked and set up but we had everything done, including pictures on the walls, in three days! We've even already had our first visitors, the Widdisons! I can't say enough about how much I love the house! Our upcoming trips camping and to Utah aren't nearly as appealing anymore because I don't want to leave!
Perhaps my biggest criteria in our house hunt was a neighborhood with a pool. I remember last year after we moved here that Jenna and I were constantly trying to find a pool to swim in, and that wasn't even the hottest part of the summer. Consequently a pool was a must! It has been one of the best decisions we've made! We go swimming every day except Sunday and have had so much fun!!! Madison is a little fish in the water and can now swim anywhere and McKinley is getting better and better. Even Reagan has started swimming with us and seems to really enjoy her floaty. Jordan is also getting up early to go swim laps, which he really enjoys. A win for all of us!
These pics are from the first night we went swimming.
