Roth Randoms - June

June seriously flew by! We started the month still in Idaho and then came home, moved, had our best friends Jen and Ryan come visit, went camping and went to Utah. Crazy but just the way we like it :) I actually had a little breakdown about the Utah trip and had convinced myself that I didn't want to go, but Jordan talked me into it by telling me I would regret it if we didn't go and he was so right!! I'm so glad we went! We definitely packed a lot into the weeks Jordan had off, but we know these trips won't happen once he starts working so we wanted to make the most of the time we had!

Three Cute Girls
Since Reagan gets her own monthly posts, I won't go into too much detail here so it's not redundant, but our cute girl just keeps getting bigger no matter how much I tell her not to! She is so smiley and has started to laugh a lot too! She's getting very close to rolling over. She's getting much better about the car seat and has discovered that she loves to swim!

McKinley is a little stinker, but she's so cute that no one minds! She has a huge personality and is almost always happy ... and loud :) She's been loving all the time we've spent in the pool and did so well with swim lessons this month. She's getting very good at doing her eye exercises and can now control her left eye when she wants to. She still loves to do puzzles but she also now loves to play games like Mickey Mouse Candy Land and is doing a great job coloring inside the lines. She loves both her sisters, and I think she's going to be very sad when Madison goes to school! A couple funny stories from her this month ...
- We noticed in January that McKinley started having a really tough time going to nursery. We thought it was just due to the time change since she's always loved nursery but still gets tired in the afternoons sometimes. We kept pushing her to go and wouldn't let her get out of it. Fast forward to June ... we were telling the girls about going to our new ward before our first Sunday there and McKinley asked me if the girl who "bited" her was going to be there. Turns out there had been a girl in nursery in our old ward who was biting her on a regular basis. Neither she nor the nursery leaders ever told us so we had no idea! We felt so bad that we were still making her go every week :( But she now loves nursery again and tells us every week that no one bit her today!
- We've tried to go swimming as a family every evening when it's a little bit cooler (like 105 instead of 115) for Reagan. So we've used that as a threat to get the girls to eat their dinner - we're all about coercion. One particularly difficult evening, we told McKinley she wouldn't be able to go swimming if she didn't eat. Madison pointed out that we couldn't leave McKinley home alone so we said we'd take her to the pool but she would just have to sit on the side and wouldn't be allowed to go in the water. McKinley promptly told us that she didn't care because she would just sneak into the pool when we weren't looking. Like I said, a little stinker!

Madison has had a great summer playing with cousins all over the place and swimming, two of her favorite things! She's come a long way in just a short month in the pool and is such a little fish now! She does cannon balls, back floats, dives for stuff and swims all over the place. She loves our new neighborhood. Just a couple days after we moved in, we had kids knocking on the door to see if the girls could come out to play. Thankfully we live on a dead end street so there's not very much traffic and there's a nice cul-de-sac just a couple doors down from us so we're pretty comfortable letting them go out there with us checking on them every couple of minutes (okay fine, Jordan is comfortable with it and I'm the one checking every couple of minutes!) The four-wheeler has been a hit with all the neighbor kids :) Madison is SOOO ready to start school and so done with us ... she has this face that she pulls when she's copping an attitude that I'm totally sick of seeing, but I keep telling Jordan that the face is better than yelling or back-talking. She's really a good girl and will do great in school!
- Learning the hard truth: "When you're rich you just get not rich because you keep giving money to the people at the store"
- Words of wisdom: Dad - "Madison, remember what we talked about at Family Home Evening? You need to work on being more obedient when we ask you to do something." Madison - "Dad, we're still practicing and you're not supposed to be perfect when you're still practicing."

Mom and Dad
We are totally loving our new home! We had a great month of trips, but sometimes it was hard to leave because we just wanted to stay home and relax! Moving here was a great decision, especially with the community pools! Jordan has been trying to swim laps every morning and we've been going swimming every evening as a family. Our new ward also seems really nice! Mostly in between all our trips, we've just been soaking up our time together. It's gone by really fast, but we've packed a lot in!

McKinley took this picture of Jen and Ryan hanging out at our house! It was so good to see them and I'm so excited that they're going to just a couple hours away so we can get together again!

Lots of swimming pictures this month!

Reagan is very popular around here. Both girls say they love her more than they love us!

  1. I love McKinley's selfie! Miss you guys! So glad you had so much fun before Jordan started working. I'm sad we didn't get to do any fun trips because I was so pregnant, but hopefully we can make a couple short trips here and there! And I can't believe how big your girls are getting. I hate how fast they grow up!
