Reagan 10 Months

Another month has come and gone for this cute girl! Her personality is really coming out now, and we all love watching her discover new things!

- Size: 3 diapers, anywhere from 6 month to 12 month clothes
- Schedule: She got sick this month which messed up her sleep at night so we're back to 6 am or earlier wake up calls :/ Good thing she's cute. Thankfully she's good at self-soothing during the night so I suppose 6 am will just have to be my new norm! She nurses when she wakes up and then eats breakfast with her sisters around 7:30. She nurses again around 9 or 9:30 and goes down for a nap, usually no more than an hour. She eats lunch at noon and then nurses at 1 or 1:30 before another nap, also about an hour. Then she nurses again around 4 and 7 with dinner in between before going to bed! All in all, it works well for us.
- She's still doing great with nursing! Our only issue is that with everything else going on on Sundays, I always have to nurse her during Sacrament meeting, and she HATES the cover! Since I refuse to leave and go to the mother's lounge to nurse, this is sometimes a bit of a struggle. But it's all good! Only two more months! Thankfully, she never went through the nursing strike that both the other girls did so this time around has been really easy!
- She's also a FANTASTIC real food eater!!! She eats anything and everything. We have yet to give her something that she's refused. And she seems to be a bottomless pit. Generally, we have to be the ones to decide when she's done because she'll keep eating forever! She especially loves bananas, strawberries, zucchini, graham crackers and anything with pasta. She has a funny quirk though where she won't eat anything if you put it in her mouth, only if she can pick it up out of your hand
- Her first Christmas was fantastic! Her favorite part was eating all the wrapping paper :)
- She was sick for a lot of this month, which is never fun. She started with a cough in December that turned into double ear infections. She was so good, I didn't even know about the ear infections though - she never tugged at her ear, complained or had a fever, just the stupid cough. The doctor found the infections at her 9 month checkup. She did 10 days of one antibiotic that didn't clear up either infection so we did a different antibiotic for the next 10 days and she's finally been feeling better the last week or so. Hooray!!
- She loves to play peekaboo more than anything! When you change her, she always grabs her clothes and puts them over her face to play!
- Speaking of changing her, she hates getting dressed. Interestingly, it's not putting the shirt over her head that bothers her - it's putting her arms in the holes. She hates to be restrained in any way!
- Her favorite toys are books, the toy remote she got for Christmas and the ball popper. She also just loves to explore all the toys and is pretty content just roaming around the playroom. She also loves to pull out all the DVDs from the shelf, which has been a favorite activity of all our kids!
- Her very favorite thing to do is play with her sisters. She gets SO excited to play with them and will laugh and giggle like crazy. She loves to climb on them, play peek a boo and play in the ball pit with them. They always get the best cuddles from her when she sees them in the morning or after school
- She sleeps with a little pink and green minky blanket and her glow worm she got for Christmas. She also likes to have the bink in her mouth when she first lays down but always spits it out as soon as she settles down to sleep and NEVER wants it any other time. Sometimes this is a challenge when you're somewhere like church or the car and need her to quiet down, but I know I'll be grateful down the road when I don't have to fight to take it away!
- She said her first word - Dada - last month but added Mama to her vocabulary this month. She doesn't say them very often though. Mostly she likes to squeal! I think we can thank her sisters for that!
- She loves Dad and always gets so excited when he comes home! She wants to go to him immediately. They also spend the two hours of church together after Sacrament meeting since I teach Primary so they're tight ;)
- She loves to pat your back while you're holding her
- Most of the time she showers with me, but we've also started putting all three girls in the bathtub together and the love it!
- We've given up on bows for now since she refuses to keep them on. I trained the other two pretty well, but not this one evidently!
- The nickname that seems to have stuck is Reggie (with hard g's like in her real name). It's growing on me. I even call her Reggie Mei sometimes. McKinley is really into rhyming right now so she usually calls her "Reggie and a Beggie and a Jeggie" :)
- She still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. She especially loves to eat paper, which is tough around here since Madison and McKinley love to write, draw and color so there's usually paper lying around somewhere.
- She also bites. I've never had a biter before so I'm a little lost what to do about it. She doesn't do it maliciously. She just loves to chew on things. And it's almost like she thinks she's giving you a kiss. She'll bite me and then just look up at me with the biggest grin on her face. I've started getting on her a little bit when she does it and she gets so upset that I've hurt her feelings! She also pinches, which hurts! Again, she doesn't realize what she's doing, she just does it kind of absent-mindedly usually when she's nursing.
- She pulls up everywhere and cruises around like a champ. She's also started to let go of things for a second or two to stand. Jordan says I'm not allowed to encourage walking (for developmental reasons) but I think she's going to do it sooner than the other two did (13 months for both of them). She especially loves to pull up on the piano and reach up to play some notes!
- She has become quite the pooper. Prior to getting sick, she would only poop every 3-4 days. But the medicine she was on for 20 days gave her diarrhea, which hasn't gone away. We now get blowouts 3-4 times a day. Fun.
- She has started to get very opinionated and throw tantrums when she doesn't get her way
- My favorite thing about her right now is that after she nurses in bed with me in the mornings, she loves to snuggle!! She just throws herself on top of me and buries her head in me for a while and then she'll go do it to Jordan! I LOVE IT! Makes getting up so early totally worth it!

We got a couple serious ones this time around

I was looking at her, not the camera, during these ones so she's got a little cut off! Too bad, because that's a killer smile!

And then she decided she was too busy for pictures

 Happy 10 Months Cute Girl!
