Snow Day

We had our fourth annual snow storm this week!! This is a little tradition I started in Mississippi, and the girls really love it so we've kept it going! I just tell Jordan it's the price he has to pay for not living anywhere near real snow!! Here's how it works ... basically one random night in January after the girls go to sleep, we cut out paper snow flakes (I should really say Jordan cuts them out - he is REALLY good at it! His snowflakes are amazing!), hang them from the ceiling in the girls' room and then dump hundreds of cotton balls all over the floor! Instant snow :) The girls love waking up and finding the "snow" and love to have snowball fights, make snowmen and make snow angels. We usually leave it for a few days to play in. It's just a fun little tradition and something they look forward to every year! Funny story - our cousins Wynn and Holly came over with their three kids to play games one night when the snow was still out. As we started cleaning up before they left, Holly came to me apologizing and saying that somehow the kids must've found some cotton balls somewhere and had made a big mess in the girls' room! I laughed and explained that no, in fact, Jordan and I made the big mess! Fun times :)

It's always amazing to me how little the cotton balls actually cover when we put out so many!
