Love - Kindergarten Style

Madison had a blast preparing for her first school Valentines Day Party!! She was so anxious to make her Valentine mailbox and especially to write out the Valentines for all her friends! I asked her when she got home after the party what her favorite part was and she told me it was giving out her Valentines, even more than getting them!

She knew from the start that she wanted to make a clock for her mailbox. She's very into clocks, watches and anything time-related right now. And just so McKinley didn't feel too left out, she made a clock mailbox too! I wanted to do something other than candy for her to give out so I found a super cute idea on Pinterest to give out glow sticks with tags that said "You make my heart glow". Madison wrote her first and last name on all 25 of the tags in one sitting, which I thought was impressive considering how long her name is! I totally spaced taking a picture of the Valentines, but they were cute and she was very excited to give them out.

Her party was on a Friday, and it worked out that she got a little surprise at lunch when Granny stopped by to eat with her! After lunch, she did an assignment in class where she was supposed to write about love, and she wrote the following (I corrected some of the spelling in parenthesis so you can read it, but I think she does pretty well):

"Love is wunderfull. love is evrewear. love can be hugs. Hugs are gevin with yor arms. This is how you do it. You rape (wrap) yor arms arond the prsin you are huging. I love to hug. I hugd my grany at lunch. I hug my famule evre day. Hugs are good. I love hugs. Hugs are love."

So cute :)

In addition to all her regular Valentines, she came home with a little paper heart that she said a boy in her class gave just to her. She said at first she didn't know if she should make him one back, but then she decided she wanted to be nice and she knew that would be a nice thing to do so she did it. Hmmm ... not sure how I feel about that :)

Her VDay party look. It was Friday, which is always school spirit day so she usually wears her QH shirt. Since the shirt says Love on it, she thought it was also perfect for her party. She picked all this out the night before and had it ready to go!

And of course, McKinley wanted to get in on the picture in her love shirt

Her teacher sent me this picture from the party

Checking out the loot!
