Roth Randoms - February

Just a few things about us this month ...

- Madison has learned how to whistle and loves to do it whenever she can. I still don't know how although she keeps trying to teach me. She's really proud that she can do it now!
- Her kindergarten class did a few things about the Super Bowl at the beginning of the month so she was really excited to watch the game with us and root for the Broncos!! She kept asking about when the Super Game was going to be on!
- Both girls have joined the choir. Since I'm the director and Jordan sings too (we're desperate for men), the girls tag along. At first they would just go over to the "Choir House" (our pianist's house) with us for practice and play but now they like to get folders and sing along. Madison especially tries very hard to learn the songs. And all three girls come up on the stand when we sing in church
- McKinley has been doing so great with her eye exercises! Using Wendy's Frosty's as a reward has been great! She gets a sticker for every day she does exercises and after 25 days, we all go and get Frosty's and make a big deal out of thanking her and congratulating her for doing them! We've gotten into a very good routine where we do them as soon as we get home from dropping Madison off at school, and she almost never complains. She likes to do jumps (regular jumps, circle jumps and color jumps), ball bounce (to me and to herself), angels, eye control, coloring and circles.
- McKinley has become a little obsessed with looking beautiful - she always asks us if she looks beautiful when she gets dressed and sometimes refuses to where the things I want her to because they don't look beautiful. I hope it's just a phase because I am DEFINITELY not ready for that at the age of 3!
- I caught Madison writing her last name pretty sloppy one day and asked her why she was writing it that way. She said she wasn't trying to be messy just fast because writing her name takes SOOOOO long!! :)
- Jordan and I have started a new challenge to both read all our books! I think between the two of us we've read them all but each of us hasn't read them all (if that makes sense). We have over 200 so it will be a good challenge for us! So far we've each read 6. Jordan is currently reading one about string theory called The Elegant Universe and I just started reading The Peacegiver, which is one of my favorites and is our Book Club book this month! I also read the Percy Jackson series this month from the library, although I think I like Fablehaven better.
- Our quest to get healthy continues! We're still juicing every day for breakfast and almost every day for lunch, and we recently switched to brown rice and whole wheat flour. We really don't see any difference in the rice, which is great, and we've found some amazing recipes for whole wheat waffles and pancakes that have become family favorites!
- Our other exciting news this month aside from our beautiful new van is that we are now the proud owners of Jordan Rothlisberger OD, PLLC :) With Jordan basically being self-employed as an independent doctor at four different practices, several people advised us that creating our own business and funneling everything through it would help us a lot financially. So we did it!! Hopefully there will one day be a practice of our own to go with the name :)

We did an FHE lesson about Moms and Dads helping each other so the girls each got to take turns dressing up as the mom or dad

Madison's new favorite pretend game is choir. She loves to teach us the music and direct our singing

Following in Mommy's footsteps

Since the weather has been so nice, we've been meeting Jordan for lunch at a park near his work on Wednesday (he comes home all the other days of the week!). McKinley loves to eat her lunch in this fire truck

Being silly

Playing at the park. Reagan is so lucky to have big sisters who adore her!

She's at a tough age for the park, though. She just wants to crawl everywhere and gets so dirty! I'm getting excited for her to start walking

She obviously tried to put a handful of dirt in her mouth

Madison LOVES to read! She walks around the house almost constantly with a book in her hand. Jordan took this picture one morning while I was doing her hair for church. I'm so glad she loves it so much, just like her mom and dad :)

Madison wrote this awesome list one day of "Jobs that Madison Rothlisberger can do" - she said she needed to make a list because she just can't decide between all these things. Her list consists of: Teacher, Cheerleader, Artist, Doctor, Eye Doctor, Sports Entertainer, Store Worker, Helping Other People, Visiting Teaching, Teaching People How To Read, Bingo Teacher, Coloring Teacher, Helping People Clean, Hospital Doctor, Nurse, Pushing People On the Swing, Bus Driver, Clock Teacher, Baseball Player, Swimming Teacher, Rock Star and Construction Worker

These two get lots of quality time together and especially love swinging at the park

And there's Madison at the park with a book in her hand again :) In all fairness, we were meeting some friends there and she just wanted to read until they came

Jordan and I did a little book store scavenger hunt for date night and had to find a recipe we wanted to make together. Jordan found this one for peach ice cream, which we will definitely be making soon!

Cute sleepy girl after church

She found McKinley's leftover VDay chocolate one day

You can't get mad at that face!

Playing Trouble

Feeding the ducks at the pond by our house. We are loving this weather!

The best part of making brownies is licking the bowl afterwards!

Our cute baby wasn't feeling very good and fell asleep in my arms

Mr. Hallock had to dress up as a sumo wrestler for the day after the school raised $30,000 for the Color Run. The girls spotted him when we pulled into the drop off line and totally cracked up!!

McKinley finished another session of gymnastics with Miss Jen and got to bring home her star
