Madison's school did a Color Run fundraiser that was a big hit!! They raised over $30,000 to buy more computers and tablets for all the students. Madison was so excited about the whole thing (they really played it up to the kids)! She got donations from us and Grandpa and got to play Plinko at lunch recess a couple times in the week leading up to the race. Then on race day, she rocked it!! She told me that morning she was a little nervous because she's "the slowest girl in the whole kindergarten" but she did great!!! She ran 1.75 miles in 25 minutes and was smiling the whole time! She was definitely not the slowest! The little girls and I went to watch her and cheer her on!! Each student got a Color Run t-shirt to get colorful in, and we made sure to preserve the colors on hers so she can save it. She really had a great time! The funniest part though was when she woke up Saturday morning and came out of her room moving very slowly, complaining that her legs hurt too much to walk! Ha ha!!!! Jordan and I both got a good laugh out of that :)
There she goes!
Coming around for another lap
Each lap was .25 miles and she did 7 of them
She was smiling and waving every time
Whew, what a run!!!
Nice and colorful!
The sun was in her eyes just a little :)
All the kindergartners and teachers
Hooray! We did it!
Her principal, Mr. Hallock, who also did the run. He's retiring this year, and we're really going to miss him!
