- She's into 12 month clothes now but can still wear some 9 month stuff. We busted out the 12 month stuff mostly because that's all the warm weather stuff and with temps in the 80's, long sleeves and pants just aren't cutting it anymore. She's obviously bigger than Madison was but I think she's smaller than McKinley.
- Sleep: So I jot down notes on my phone throughout the month to help me remember things and one of the things I wrote during this month was "no sleep." I feel like those ear infections over Christmas really messed up her sleep, especially at night, and we were still feeling the pain early in the month. She was just coughing so much that it would wake her up at night. Thankfully, I feel like we've finally moved past that for the most part. She FINALLY is routinely sleeping until 6:30 am, which I'll take. She still only naps about an hour at a time, around 9 am and 1 pm, but whatever. The next step is waking up happy! I put some dolls and books in her bed, but she still wakes up screaming and continues screaming until I go in there. McKinley was always so good about playing in her bed and being so happy after naps. Madison would even go in there sometimes and climb in the crib to play with McKinley. Reagan is completely different. She ignores everything in her bed and if anyone but me goes in there, she just screams more. Baby steps
- Eating: She's fantastic at nursing, easy and fast. We've cut down from five sessions to four this week, which makes things a bit easier for me schedule-wise. She also loves table foods. She is by far our best eater. Her favorites this month include blueberries (she would eat blueberries for every meal if I let her and they weren't so darn expensive!), cherry tomatoes and grapefruit (yep, grapefruit, you read that right, she takes after her Dad). She usually eats a whole banana and some type of mini muffin for breakfast (I like to make a batch each week and freeze them and then just pull out a couple each morning. I've found some really great recipes with fruits and veggies in them!). Then she eats some type of fruit, crackers and cheese for lunch (her faves include graham crackers and freeze-dried apples) and whatever we eat for dinner.
- When she's done eating, she doesn't just start whining to get out ... she starts throwing everything left on her tray onto the floor. McKinley did the same thing
- She is also drinking really well out of a sippy cup now, which is good preparation for weaning. She'll be my second kid to have never done a bottle
- She loves being outside, but she still loves to put things in her mouth, which makes being outside tough! We go to the park pretty often, and she loves the swings, but inevitably she wants to get down and then she just gets filthy and ends up eating dirt, rocks, leaves and anything else she can find. I'm constantly putting my hand over her mouth and telling her no
- Speaking of "no", she definitely understands what it means and even sometimes listens :) Sometimes I'll tell her no and she'll stop doing whatever it is and then as soon as I'm not looking at her anymore she'll do it anyway. Typical
- She loves looking at books and turning the pages. She also loves to play the xylophone and put down all the animals on the pop-up toy after someone pops them up for her. She also enjoys knocking down block towers and pulling everything out of the toy box :)
- She's super playful and loves to be chased, tickled and played with. She loves playing peek-a-boo and I even watched her play hide-and-seek with herself one day ... she had a little toy in her hand that she would put in a little spot between the wall and the couch then she would crawl across the room and back and pull it out of the spot and just laugh and laugh over and over again!
- She discovered the kitchen this month so I rearranged all the cupboards so the bottom ones are all Reagan friendly. None of our cabinets have handles so I didn't really have a good way to baby proof them without installing something on the doors (renter problems!). So instead we just moved things around so she has lots of places to play and I don't have to worry about what she's getting into. One of the cupboards has all the pots and pans and another has random stuff like aprons but her favorite one is a big one that I specifically put things in for her to play with like lids, pitchers and fun utensils to bang around. She loves it!
- She's still very attached to me. She gets really excited when she sees Jordan or the girls but it usually doesn't last very long and then she wants me back. Sometimes I feel like we play tag, where I walk around the house doing stuff and she just follows me until she can catch me and then she hangs on to my legs for dear life until I pick her up. I love all her cuddles and hugs, but it gets tough. I have two other kids, and a husband, and a house and a life!! Sometimes it's a little much. We always say she's definitely our most high maintenance baby.
- Along with that, she HATES other people. Don't even try to hold her ... or look at her. She's even worse than McKinley, which is saying a lot! One of the young women at choir practice was trying to play with her, and when she started screaming, I started to say something about her probably being tired and Jordan said, "Why don't you stop making excuses for her and just tell the truth - she's a tyrant who hates people!"
- She likes to try to put her pants and socks on herself. If you hand them to her she'll immediately reach down to her feet
- I've been putting shoes on her more in preparation for her walking and she's fascinated by them. She especially loves when she can get one off in the carseat and chew on it
- She still bites and pinches, but not maliciously. She bites when she gets excited and she pinches when she nurses and rubs my arm or neck. We're working on it
- She loves sticking her tongue out and blowing raspberries
- She can stand by herself but hasn't really tried to take steps on her own. She just stands there until she wants to go somewhere and then drops to her knees. She loves to walk around holding on to furniture or our hands. We've tried having her take a couple steps in between us but she gets so excited that she just falls down. It's pretty funny!
- Her nickname this month is Reggy Spaghetti. What will McKinley come up with next?!
She was kind of a beast taking pictures today. She's just too busy now!
This is the money shot so it goes first. But you can see from the progression that I only got two pictures in the chair with the elephant and then she was off to explore!
Found the bow. I usually don't even bother because she always pulls it off!
That killer smile is for McKinley

Is anyone out there?

Little cutie! She's getting so big! I love it! Is she walking?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, she looks so much older and so big!! I can't believe she is almost a year old. Time is flying. She is adorable though. We miss you all!
