What followed was one of our best Disneyland trips ever, second only in my book to the time we stayed at the hotel!! The rain scared everyone else away so the lines averaged about 10 minutes, even for the big popular rides!! We knew some of our favorites like the Jungle Cruise, Autopia, Teacups and the Disneyland Railroad were going to be closed so we took advantage of the short lines and did lots of new rides that the girls hadn't gone on yet!! We started at Pirates of the Caribbean, which is one of my favorites but scares Madison so she specifically asked to go on that first so she wouldn't "have to worry about it the rest of the day." But even she said that it was fun this time and she didn't have to duck her head down once :) Then we did Haunted Mansion and headed to Splash Mountain, which the girls have never been on!! I stayed out with Reagan while everyone else went. When they came out, Madison loved it so much that she wanted to go again so I went with her while everyone else went to visit Tigger and Eeyore. It was so fun to ride with her and see her excitement! She narrated the whole thing for me and warned me about all the drops and dark parts :) Then we hit up Winnie the Pooh, a family favorite, and ate lunch.
Since they loved Splash Mountain so much, we decided to try Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Since that's my favorite ride, my Dad volunteered to stay off with Reagan while the rest of us went. Once again, the girls loved it!!! There was one part with some fake fire and explosions which startled Madison, but when we got done, both girls wanted to go again! We ended up going one more time then and then coming back later because McKinley wanted to go on it a third time!! Who are these girls?!?!?! I'm seriously so glad that they had so much fun on these rides!! I think Disneyland is going to be even more fun now!! From there, we took a little break in the Tiki Room before heading to Fantasyland for Small World, Dumbo, the Carousel and our favorite Mickey's Soundsational Parade!!! Then it was on to Tomorrowland for more new rides, including the Astro Orbiter, the Astro Blasters and the Monorail, which was our substitute for the train. We got some dinner and settled in to watch the new electric light parade, which was awesome!!! The parades at Disneyland are seriously so good! By then, the girls were pretty much down so my Dad and I headed to Main Street while Jordan and my sisters did a quick jaunt through Hyperspace Mountain. We had a great day with lots and lots of fun!
Everyone was exhausted on the way home and looking forward to a good night's sleep before heading home on Tuesday. Unfortunately, those plans didn't exactly happen as we got a rude wake-up call at 12:30 am when McKinley threw up all over herself and the bed she was sharing with Madison. We spent an hour getting that taken care of so everyone could go back to sleep and were still able to get on the road by about 10 the next morning. However, we only made it about 30 minutes when Madison threw up, prompting a stop at the grocery store for cleaning supplies, saltines and sprite. Way to break in the new car! About an hour after that, we stopped at the Palm Desert Outlets for lunch and so Jordan could get some running clothes from the Under Armour outlet and discovered that Reagan had thrown up at some point. So then we just tried to book it home and hope no one else got sick!! Thankfully, it worked! I think it was just a combination of a busy weekend and lots of not so healthy food :) Despite the stomach issues, we had a fantastic time and can't wait to go again!!
Three cute girls ready to go!! I made each girl a pink Minnie Mouse bow and did the older two girls hair in bump pigtails to look like Minnie ears. I think they look pretty cute!!
Grandpa's ready too!
Our first ride - the tram from the parking garage :)
Happy family
Silly girl! We stopped at City Hall to get our buttons before we did any rides. Madison and Reagan got birthday ones and the rest of us got Celebrating ones
Madison wanted to wear the Minnie ears we got last May
Cute baby
Ready for Splash Mountain!!
Picture of a picture. It looks like Madison is about to throw up, but she really loved it!! As did Jordan, obviously :)
Reagan and McKinley got to meet Eeyore and Tigger while Madison and I went on Splash Mountain
Our Splash Mountain picture!
I love this girl!!!
There was much discussion about who was riding with who. At first there was an agreement to take turns riding with Grandpa but then McKinley became very attached to Aunt Stephanie so they became permanent riding buddies
My hot husband in his Ray Bans ... perks of being an optometrist :)
Ready for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This girl's smile always makes me happy!!
When we met up with Grandpa again after riding, we found a sleeping baby!
All decked out for the ongoing 60th celebration
Still sleeping as we set off on It's A Small World
Thankfully she woke up as we went inside. She was so wide-eyed looking around at everything the whole day, I knew she would love looking around inside here!! And she definitely did!!!
Waiting for the Soundsational Parade! We got the girls some Mickey lollipops while we waited, and Madison decided to show off her red tongue!
There was lots of waving
The Princesses got the most waves
Mary Poppins and Bert, just for my Mom :)
There's nothing more attractive than a man holding his baby :)
Dumbo, which entered the day as McKinley's favorite ride until being supplanted by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Again with that great smile!!
Carousel
Watching the Electric Light Parade with glow sticks from Walmart instead of insanely expensive glow sticks from Disneyland ... it's almost like I've done this before :)
Belle

Anna and Elsa
