Celebrating Madison

Madison's birthday was more low key this year since she's had big parties every year of her life and we went to Disneyland a couple weeks ago as a birthday present. Despite Madison insisting that it was her birthday too all day on Reagan's birthday we tried to celebrate each girl individually! However, we're not stupid so we did cake and presents all together on Sunday night and then Madison got to celebrate her birthday with balloons, donuts at school and a birthday dinner on Monday!

She got to open two presents on Sunday morning since she was getting a new dress and church shoes she needed that day!! Then in the evening, she got her own cake and presents with Aunt Jenna's family while we also did Reagan's. She requested a Hello Kitty cake from the store, but I'm not interested in making that a trend so I talked her into a yummy pink M&M ice cream cake that I found on Pinterest instead. I put sparkler candles on it just because I had them and I thought she'd think they were pretty but as soon as one sparked a little bit, she immediately dove under the table so I guess that didn't go as well as I thought :) But she loved the cake! And she loved her presents and getting to open them and play with them with some of her cousins around Sunday night.

Monday she woke up to balloons hanging in her room (as is tradition) and a birthday balloon on her chair. She was so excited to go to school and wear her birthday ribbon!! We had actually originally planned to be at Disneyland on her birthday, but she didn't want to - she wanted to be at school!! She decided months ago that she wanted to have donuts for her class so I brought them in at the end of the day, and she was so exited to hand them out and have everyone sing to her! Her teacher had her stand on a chair while everyone sang and she was just beaming! We had her favorite dinner of pesto pasta that night and then it was off to karate :) Never a dull moment!

Already reading her new scripture story book

This was a set of wooden butterfly magnets that you decorate with paint, glitter, etc. McKinley actually picked it out ... we all know Madison loves to create!!

More shoes ... pink glittery sandals :) No wonder she's so happy!

This was her present from Grandpa. When we were there a couple weeks before, she and McKinley had a lot of fun one night hitting tennis balls in the garage so Grandpa decided to get them both rackets and balls for their birthdays. Madison loved it!!

Now she wants to practice to she can play with Grandpa when he comes to visit!

Her M&M ice cream cake

I think McKinley was more excited about the balloons than anyone! She actually had a tough time with all this birthday fun - she just didn't understand why both sisters got to celebrate and open presents and she has to wait!

 Our Happy Birthday Girl!
We took some pictures with her birthday sign but she was being kind of crazy

 Ready for her birthday song

Her teacher helped her get in the groove with some dance moves

Happy Birthday Madison!!

There was still a few minutes left before school got out so her teacher read a book to the class. Madison pulled a chair up for McKinley; the two of them looked so cute sitting there together!

This silly girl just had fun walking around all the tables.

Love these cute girls!!
