Jen and Ryan

Our awesome and amazing friends Jen and Ryan came to visit us for a weekend in March!! Jen and Ryan are the very first people we met when we moved to Mississippi ... they were moving in right across the parking lot from us in our apartment complex!! Jordan and Ryan were in the same class at SCO so we basically became family away from family, spending lots of fun times, game nights, holidays, celebrations, etc., together. I love them and am so grateful for them!! They are seriously some of my very favorite people!! Anyway, Ryan ended up getting a job about 4 hours away from us here in AZ so after 10 months of being apart for externships, we've been able to get together a few times in the past year and we always have a blast!!

We decided to experience a true Arizona rite of passage and go to a spring training game on their most recent visit! They arrived on Friday night and after staying up until 1 am talking, we woke up Saturday morning and had a nice breakfast together before Jordan had to head into work for the morning. Since the game was in the afternoon, I decided to take them up to the Mesa Temple to check out the grounds and the Visitors Center. My girls loved showing everything off and being the tour guides around the place! I miss going there since we now live about 45 minutes away instead of 2 minutes like we did last year! We now live 2 minutes from the Gilbert Temple but it doesn't have anything like the Mesa Temple does! Anyway, after the temple, we dropped the big girls off at Aunt Jenna's (so we could just go and enjoy the game instead of paying $30 for their tickets and then trying to find ways to keep them entertained!) and met up with Jordan. The game was in Scottsdale between the Royals and Diamondbacks, and it was so fun! The weather was perfect and it was just a great way to spend the afternoon!! After picking up the girls we headed home to grill BBQ chicken for dinner and then stayed up way too late again talking and playing games :) They had to head home after Sacrament meeting on Sunday, and we were all sad to see them leave. I'm already planning their next visit!! Come back soon Jen and Ryan!!!
